Judezmo is a Spanish word that means Jewish or Judaism. It comes from the word Judah. It was the language of the Jews who lived in Spain before the 1942 expulsion. It is the Sephardic Jewish equivalent to the Yiddish language of the Ashkenazi Jews who lived in Germany during the Holocaust, 80 percent of the Judezmo-speaking Jewish population was destroyed by the Nazis. Judezmo (Judeo Castilian) Expressions have been put together by Thomas Immanuel Barton who is part of Harim Alon Youth. The illustrations by Paul Dwight Cook and cute pictures will help to read Judezmo in Hebrew characters; also transliterated in Latin characters and translated from Judezmo to English. It is a fun way to read and enjoy the Judea-Spanish language.
